History:

The idea of making Sonic X Chaotic Battle kinda just hit us. Originally, I was going to make a little flash movie with Sonic in it against an original character I created. It was going to be a short comedy as I wanted to make a movie using my drawing tablet. Then I realized I should make a different villain so I could have a wider audience. Rather than putting all my time and effort into a movie that will only be seen by 5 people, I thought of adding in Shadow. I discussed it with Ido and he liked the idea. He wrote up a 5 page script and I knew if I could pull off all the things he had in there, I could make a great movie.

My main inspiration came from the Sonic X anime. When we heard about the anime being aired in April, we thought we had to hurry up before someone used our idea first. I chose to use the Sonic X character style rather than do my own rendition of the characters and make them look totally different like some people do.

I was working on another project at the time Sonic was thought up. I got about 1 minute of animation done on that project before I put it on hold and worked on Sonic instead. The animation for that movie is outdated compared to SXCB. I think I'll end up starting from scratch and release that movie in the next few years. The trailer for the movie was my first flash project back in Jan of 2000.

Synopsis:

Sonic and Shadow are in a desolate area as they compete to control the Chaos Emeralds. They race through the greenlands, grind rails through a cave, and battle it out in the desert. They find the Emerald Shrine in the desert and fight for the emeralds. After taking a beating, Sonic calls upon the power of the emeralds to turn into Super Sonic. He gains the upper hand and then Shadow goes super. After the super battle ensues, they lock fists together and power up even more. Draining the Chaos Emerald's power, Sonic and Shadow turn into Hyper Hedgehogs for a moment before they use up too much power in which the emeralds shatter, rendering the hedgehogs back to their normal state. Sonic hears a noise coming from the Emerald Shrine only for it to be none other than the Guardian of the Master Emerald, Knuckles himself. Knuckles detonates a bomb which destroys the ground around the shrine and eventually taking the Master Emerald to a safer destination underground. Shadow soon follows the emerald in attempts to get it for himself while Sonic chases after it as well.
